The Fredericksburg Area Museum offers special group tours for school children. School groups within Planning District 16 are admitted free of charge. This includes Fredericksburg, King George, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and Caroline counties. For all other school groups, the charge is $1.00 per child and $5.50 per adult. (One adult is admitted free for every 10 children in the group.)

The tour is approximately forty minutes long. Due to space limitations we divide larger groups into groups of twenty or fewer with a guide for each group.

Two permanent galleries were created on the second floor. British Heritage, American Style showcases the furniture, painting, and decorative arts created by Virginia craftsmen from 1730-1860. The second gallery is titled George Washington & the Masonic Tradition in Fredericksburg. This fascinating exhibition features items associated with the Fredericksburg Lodge # 4 A.F. & A.M., the lodge where George Washington was sworn in as a Mason.
