From North or South via I-95

The Fredericksburg Area Museum is located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, 50 miles south of Washington, D.C., and 50 miles north of Richmond, Virginia. To reach the Museum from Interstate 95:

1. Take Exit 130-A
2. Follow Route 3 East approximately 1-1/2 miles to the traffic light for William Street. (Note: William Street bears to the left just after the US1 overpass; get in the left-most lane on Rt. 3 East.)
3. Turn left onto William Street, and follow the signs approximately 1 mile for the downtown historic district
4. Turn right onto Princess Anne Street and the Museum is located immediately on the left - 907 Princess Anne Street.

Street parking is available throughout the downtown area. There is also a public parking lot located about 3 blocks from the Museum on Sophia Street. If you'd like to park in the lot and walk back to the Museum, continue on William Street to Sophia Street, which is two blocks east of Princess Anne Street. Turn right on Sophia Street and free public parking begins about one block on the left.
