About The Cave of the Yellow Dog (Mongolia/Germany, 2005)

Taking its title from a Mongolian folk tale, The Cave of the Yellow Dog chronicles the daily life of a family of nomadic sheepherders living on the steppes of central Asia. It revolves around a young girl’s (Nansal Batchuluun) efforts to conceal a stray puppy she finds, defying her father’s (Urjindorj Batchuluun) wishes.
