About Member’s Trip to Charlottesville!

The Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center is pleased to announce its annual Member’s Trip in conjunction with Garden Week on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013 where members and their guests will travel to Charlottesville, Virginia for the day.  Upon arrival at Jefferson’s Monticello, members and their guests will tour the first floor of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.  After lunch, members will participate in a walking tour of the restored landscape with Gabriele Rausse, Monticello’s Director of Garden and Grounds where they will learn about the history of the restoration of Jefferson’s mountaintop landscape and the Garden Club of Virginia’s involvement before heading off to Barboursville Vineyards where we will learn about the wine-making process, enjoy a wine tasting of 10 different wines, and take home a souvenir wine glass!  The cost of the trip is $70/per person for members, $90/per person for non-members.  Participants will depart the Museum at 8:00am and return around 5:00pm.
