About Picturing the Civil War

On December 4, Director of Collections & Exhibitions Christopher Uebelhor will give a presentation on the Museum’s newest sesquicentennial exhibition “Picturing the Civil War.” The exhibition, which opened in August, features numerous photographs and artwork depicting the Battle of Fredericksburg and its aftermath. By selecting some of the more intriguing pieces in the exhibit, Uebelhor will discuss with attendees the motivations of the artists and photographers, and the effects their works may have had on their audiences.
