About Second Saturdays at the Museum

Second Saturdays at the Museum is a regularly scheduled family program that includes hands-on activities, and make-and-take crafts. The program is held on the second Saturday of each month from 1–3 pm, with varying topics and themes related to the Museum's permanent and temporary exhibitions. Themes will change monthly; call for details 540.371.3037, ext. 142. Sponsored by PNC Bank with support from Kinder Morgan

Join us October 12from 1-3 PM for Second Saturdays at the Museum! As the cool weather moves in and the leaves start to change color, our thoughts turn to harvest time. This month the museum invites you to learn about Virginia Indian farming and harvest techniques. You and your children will work together to decorate a clay pot in the Portal, Passage, and Power exhibit. Once the pot is decorated, the kids will plant their own seed to take home and watch grow. This event is FREE.
