About Civil War Era Games

Join us August 10th from 1-3 PM for Second Saturdays at the Museum! Fredericksburg has a rich history of the Civil War, but have you ever wondered what children were doing during the war? Well this month you can find out! You and your children can learn about Civil War era games, such as draughts and The Game of Life. Kids will make their own draughts, or checkers, board and pieces to take home and play. After the activity, we invite you to visit the traveling exhibit from the Virginia Historical Society, An American Turning Point: The Civil War in Virginia. This event is FREE.
