Where the Past Is Present and the Arts Are Alive

Williametta (Willie) F. Schooler

Willie Schooler was born on January 8, 1864 to Samuel and Mary Schooler.   Willie’s mother Mary purchased property in Fredericksburg and built her home that today is known as 1303 Caroline Street.  There, she and Willie lived until Mary’s death in 1903. Willie successfully operated The Hanover School, also known as “Miss Willie Schooler’s”, at 211 Hanover Street until 1913, when she closed the school to marry Rev. Frank Page of Fairfax.   They moved to Richmond, where Willie died on November 7, 1928, at the age of 64.
