Teresa “Tessie” Greco Ventura

Teresa “Tessie” Greco Ventura was born in Tampa, Florida to Italian immigrant parents on January 26, 1925. Teresa met her future husband Paul Joseph Ventura through family friends in Tampa while Mr. Ventura was in the service. They married on September 27, 1948 and moved to Mr. Ventura’s hometown of Fredericksburg.

Mr. Ventura brought Teresa’s entire family to Fredericksburg to make their new home in the College Heights neighborhood of Fredericksburg. Teresa cared for her ailing mother and helped raise her siblings while starting her own family. She volunteered countless hours at Montfort Academy, a local Catholic school that she strongly supported. Education was very important to Teresa, and she saw to it that each of her children earned a college education. Teresa died on September 27, 1992. Her family honors her memory.
